Official Name: B-52 Stratofortress Association, also known as the B-52 Association.
Legal Entity: We are registered in the state of Ohio and are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization
Date Founded: We were organized in May 1994 with 50 members and today have more than 900 members
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Association is to:
- Document and perpetuate the history of the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress
- Establish a B-52 Resource Center for future research in this history
- Accumulate, exchange, and distribute educational and historical information on the B-52
- Publish a quarterly newsletter to inform the membership and carry out the first two purposes
- Organize periodic reunions of those who designed, manufactured, maintained, and operated the B-52, as well as anyone with an historical interest in the aircraft
- Facilitate renewed and continued fellowship among those who share association with the B-52 Stratofortress

MERCHANDISE PROGRAM CHAIR — Position Open
Job Description
- Select, negotiate with provider, order, and stock merchandise.
- Provide storage space for inventory.
- Receive orders, pack, and ship or mail merchandise in timely manner.
- Provide or arrange to provide merchandise for sale at biennial reunions of association.
- If located in a state with sales tax, collect and pay this tax for sales to addresses in that state.
- Maintain inventory, income, and expense records.
- Provide financial data to treasurer at year's end for tax return.
- Record-keeping is extremely important. Since we submit an annual report of all finances to the Internal Revenue Service, records must be able to withstand audit if they decide to perform one.
SECRETARY — Position Open
Job Description
- Compile minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors and other official meetings. Distribute to Board and maintain a record set.
- Maintain record copies of Articles of Association or Incorporation, By-Laws, and other official records. Staff changes to these documents as required in accordance with the current By-Laws.
- Appoint a nominating committee on or before 15 September of the year before the biennial meeting of the board. Receive their slate of nominees by the following 1 February and prepare ballots.
- Mail out ballots not later than 1 March, receive executed ballots
prior to 30 April, tabulate results and convey to Board.
